In Dalmatia everyone’s living at the fear that not knowing what you are going to eat is almost the same as starving. When people are eating day’s lunch here they are already discussing what they are going to have for lunch tomorrow. When you go to someone’s house for lunch or dinner in Dalmatia, you are always, ALWALS, asked if you want more, and no matter what you say, no matter how much you refuse, say no, or no thanks, you will always get more. There will be more. And it will be on your plate! Ladies and Gentleman, we are not asking what can you do for your country. Dalmatians usually asking what’s for lunch! “Eat, drink and cook (if you would like to) with locals” tour does pretty much exactly same what it says on the title. But beside that you will uncover and experience: the different between Italian and Dalmatian prosciutto and pancetta, the most famous Croatian cheese from island of Pag, lamb, veal or octopus peka (iron bell), seasonal fruit and vegetables, wind-phobia of propuh (draft), place for cooking in medieval house, the sparrow grass which seasonally growing everywhere but you need to get licence to collect it, dalmatian seasoning, slow food, seasonal catching squids, salt, sow and piglets as market cleaners, tradition of “every day cooking”, granny kitchen, quid pre pro (Lat.), slippers, “party breaker” in Dalmatia, marenda (brunch), 3 twigs, “will do tomorrow” tradition, dalmatian loud speaking, glass of wine before bed time, medical purpose of local alcohol, and quite a lot more.
