ŠIBENIK NIGHTLIFE THE LOCAL WAY: STORIES, TRADITIONS & DRINKS

Where?
We will start at Poljana, the main square in Šibenik, which was and is the main meeting place for locals, and will probably end there too.

When?
Let’s start at 6 pm. You also can request the time which suit to you. Please be sure to contact us prior to a tour using the contact form!

How long?
Usually this tour lasts 3 hours but we will drink :). It can be prolonged though, depending on the amount of questions and practicing social skills!

How much?

Tour cost 55 Euro per person and its included: 4 alcoholic drinks (we visit about 5 locations) , bottle of water and traditional Croatian/Dalmatian snack and exclude extra drinks for more than two person in a group. And 70 Euro per person if just two of you in a group.

This tour was inspired by AI—or rather, it is a resistance to it! For Dalmatian people, “going out” (often referred to as ići vanka) means embracing a slow-paced lifestyle focused on social connection. It represents a daily ritual of leisure—sitting in cafés or bars, or simply on a bench; strolling; or chatting with friends—rather than just visiting a venue, and it embodies the philosophy of fjaka (a state of pure relaxation). This lifestyle is deeply connected to a “slow down,” “forget time,” “walk slowly,” and “enjoy life” mentality. Artificial intelligence can’t give you that!

Book the tour, if possible, at the beginning of your stay in Šibenik, as you will also receive recommendations during the tour on where to eat and drink, as well as insights into local traditions and stories. In addition, you will learn, drink, and experience “killing time” in Šibenik, “greasy street” (where there is no grease), the connection between the most famous Croatian sportsman and a duck shop, giant infants, wine as currency, “lucky poop,” a workshop where we’ll make the most famous Dalmatian spirit, known locally as the “antibiotic,” a secret door and path used for fraud, the largest water cistern in medieval Šibenik, Dalmatian swearing vocabulary (perhaps we will practice if we get tipsy for courage before that 🙂), a local medicinal liqueur that clashed with pharmacists, local street food available 24/7, the “Tinder” of the early 20th century, a legend (today we would call it fake news 🙂) about a local spinster (šemprešola in the local dialect), three twigs as symbols, a rebus that warns us to stop the tour 🙂, a “deadly” souvenir from Dalmatia, and the message—and excuse—that drinking wine is not a sin (at least, according to the Bible), and much more…
